This "Ready-to-Carve" 8" Beaded Edge Basswood Plate is well-suited to any level Chip Carver - Beginner through Advanced.
Organic forms such as the stylized Oak Leaves used in this border, are easy to carve and pleasing to the eye. Maintaining the even continuous circular line to their inside and outside edges, provide a a perfect frame for the Center Rosette.
One can be creative and carve areas that are not shown as carved in these photos. Likewise, the opposite is true. Additional shapes, Stab Knife marks, new lines can be added to make the design totally unique. This is true with nearly all Ready-to-Carve designs.
No matter how you approach it, skipping the layout and moving directly into carving the piece has become a very popular concept.
