Radius Edge CBN Wheels are designed for sharpening high speed steels found in quality turning tools. These 8" wheels feature a 1.5" face which makes them easy to use with the Wolverine Sharpening System. The 5/8" arbor allows for easy mounting on almost any 8" bench grinder on the market. The 80 Grit CBN wheel is perfect for forming your profile or to raise a burr on your scrapers. The 180-grit wheel puts almost a mirror finish on your edges and makes them "scary sharp."

A unique feature of this wheel is the 1/4" radius on both sides of the wheel. The radius makes it easy to grind small 1/4" hollowing bits and round scrapers. This eliminates the problem of having to rotate a tool by the handle (in the case of scrapers) and end up over-grinding the tip. With CBN being so hard, you don't have to press into the wheel to get it to perform. This feature of CBN allows you to hold small bits, micro turning tools and not burn your fingers.

Cubic boron nitride (CBN) is a synthetic chemical compound made up of boron and nitrogen atoms in a one-to-one ratio. Its atoms arranged in a symmetrical, cube-shaped structure like the crystalline structure of diamond. CBN material properties include extreme hardness, stability under heat, and superior chemical resistance. CBN is the second-hardest known material after diamond, making it useful in as an abrasive or cutting tool for sharpening.
