Narex may be a new brand to many U.S. woodworkers, but it has a rich history dating back to 1919. The brand initially focused on manufacturing chisels and gimlets. To commemorate its 100th anniversary, Narex has introduced an extra-premium line of Richter chisels.

These chisels are versatile tools crafted with high-quality materials, combining traditional techniques with modern high-tolerance manufacturing processes. The knife-edge side bevels enable use in tight corners and delicate joinery, while still being robust enough for mallet work.

• Durability for Mallet Work: Crafted from premium materials, these chisels are strong enough to withstand heavy cuts despite their sleek profile.
• Premium Steel Construction: Made from high-quality Chrome Manganese (Cr-V) steel using traditional drop-forging methods. The blades are tempered to achieve a minimum hardness of 62 HRc.
• Cryogenic Treatment: After initial hardening, the steel undergoes cryogenic treatment, cooling it to −190°C (−310°F) using liquid nitrogen. This process significantly enhances the steel's strength, toughness, and wear resistance.
• European Ash Handle: Known for its strength and attractive grain, the wood for these handles is sourced using sustainable timber management practices.
• Stainless Steel Ferrules and Leather Washers: The heavy-duty ferrules and leather washers prevent handle splits and absorb shock from mallet strikes.
