The Powermatic 31A is equipped with a variety of features that enable it to handle even the most demanding tasks. Its full cast iron construction allows for both metalworking and woodworking on the same machine. The Integral Dual Dust Port ensures that both the belt and disc components remain clean, which helps extend the life of the abrasives.

The articulating table on the 6" x 48" belt sander head can be adjusted to operate vertically, horizontally, or at an angle to suit different jobs. The belt head includes an indexing pin with stops at 0, 45, and 90 degrees, while the head lock allows for use at any angle in between. By removing the top guard, users can perform contour sanding. Additionally, the cast iron tables feature miter gauge slots and positive stops, making setup quick, accurate, and easy for any desired angle.
