3/8" X 36" Cherry Dowel Rod

I'm making some 19th-century model cannon wheels out of cherry and am using the 3/8" dowels for the spokes (14 per wheel). I dry-fitted with 3/8" birch dowels, and everything went together great, so I decided to get the cherry dowels to match the wheels. The problem is that the 3/8" cherry dowels I got actually measure .380", as opposed to the 3/8" (.375") holes that these are fitting into. I had to overdrill each hole to avoid breaking everything by driving these through the rims with a hammer. It made what started as a fun project pretty sloppy. I doubt if they would care, but might want to let the supplier know. Otherwise, the cherry part of it was great!
