Description

Woodworker's Pocket Book

The "Woodworker’s Pocket Book" is compact, measuring just 4” x 6-1/2”, yet it contains 112 pages filled with essential woodworking information for hand-tool enthusiasts. Edited by the esteemed Charles H. Hayward and first published in 1949, this guide covers everything from finishing recipes and drawing ellipses to selecting the appropriate screw or nail.

We possess several editions of this book, as it was frequently updated and republished. After reviewing all versions, we opted to reprint the original edition (with permission, of course). This edition features Hayward's illustrations and does not focus on the metric system, sharpening high-speed steel saw blades, or machine pulley sizes. It is designed for woodworkers who prefer working by hand with fractions, inches, and feet.

We also appreciate the book's small size, making it easy to fit in your back pocket. We recommend keeping it in your tool chest or cabinet, as it functions more like a tool than a traditional book.

To ensure the book’s longevity, we designed it for a shop environment. All signatures are sewn and taped for durability. This edition is also wrapped in high-density boards and utilizes durable paper that enhances the original design.

Like all our books, the "Woodworker’s Pocket Book" is printed in the U.S.
