Narex Mortise Chisel 16mm
These mortise chisels, produced by Narex in the Czech Republic, are of exceptional quality. The blades are made from fine-grained, well-tempered chrome-manganese steel and are hardened to 59 HRc, ensuring they take and hold a sharp edge. The blades are precision-ground with a 25-degree bevel. They taper 0.030 inches from the tip to the shoulder for improved sidewall clearance. The blade thickness also tapers from 3/8 inch at the tip to 1/2 inch at the shoulder. Each handle is made of stained beech wood and features two steel ferrules designed to withstand heavy use with a mallet. Additionally, the blades have a securely seated, heavy steel tang for enhanced stability.
