Description
Basswood (Tilia americana) is considered a top choice for wood carvers and sculptors. Although it grows all along the eastern United States, the most highly prized Basswood grows in the upper Midwest region where it's white and creamy texture make it a delight to work with. The Basswood carried at KWS is from this region (Upper Minnesota and Wisconsin).

Very Nice piece of wood!
I am new to wood carving and ordered this basswood at the recommendation of my class instructor. The wood was packed carefully and arrived in great shape. The wood was very ease to carve. In fact, the instructor even commented on what a nice piece of wood this was.
