Demos

Kevin Felderhoff

Kevin Felderhoff

Join nationally recognized woodturner Kevin Felderhoff for two days of live demonstrations at the 2026 Klingspor Woodworking Extravaganza. Throughout the event, Kevin will demonstrate the techniques behind his signature Bark-Edged Flying-Wing Vase, along with a variety of other wood turned projects. As he turns, he'll share practical tips on tool control, design, sanding, finishing, and techniques that help beginning woodturners build confidence and improve their skills.

Kevin is an instructor at John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, North Carolina, where he teaches Foundations of Woodturning. He is known for creating distinctive wood art that blends technical precision with artistic design. His work includes award-winning wooden footballs, handcrafted wooden cowboy hats—including a custom hat created for Sylvester Stallone—and acclaimed flying-wing vases.

Kevin's work has been featured twice on Fox & Friends Weekend—first during the Made in America segment showcasing his wooden cowboy hats, and later during the National Tailgating feature highlighting his handcrafted wooden footballs. He was also featured on Powermatic TV, where he shared his woodturning techniques and creative process. Watch the episode here: Powermatic TV featuring Kevin Felderhoff

Over the years, Michele’s work has been sold through galleries and commissioned by private collectors. She is currently on a creative sabbatical, exploring new artistic directions. With over 20 years of teaching experience. Michele has taught pyrography to thousands of students across the U.S. at venues like the International Woodcarving Congress, John C. Campbell Folk School, Southeastern Woodcarving School, and the American Woodcarving School.

Michele is the author of Quick-Start Woodburning Guide and Leather Pyrography (also published in German) and parts of the Big Book of Pyrography Projects. She also contributes regularly to Pyrography and Woodcarving Illustrated magazines. A strong advocate for the pyrography community, she founded the Southeastern Pyrography Association and helped organize the first multi-material pyrography competition.

Michele continues to promote pyrography through Klingspor’s Woodworking Shop, where she teaches, demonstrates, and writes The Burning Post blog/newsletter.

These classic, high-quality tools are available at both the Hickory and Winston store locations and will also be featured at the upcoming Extravaganza! A variety of tools will be showcased, including wooden planes, metal-bodied planes, chisels, carving tools, squares, vises, drills, and many other hand tools from makers such as Dunlap, Disston, Marples, Record, Craftsman, Millers Falls, Stanley, and more.
All tools have been cleaned, restored, and sharpened and are ready to be put to work in your shop. Skip the flea market with broken, rusty tools and stop by our booth at the show to take the 0.001 thick shaving test with a classic plane or two!
