May 16th - Shaker Style 2-Step Stool

Tools/materials required: All materials and tools are supplied; participants may bring their own tools if desired.  Participants will be provided with a lunch break.               

Class Description, Info, or Special Instructions:

In this class, we will build a classic step stool out of solid wood, suitable for staining or painting. We will use traditional cut nails and half-dovetail lap joints for construction. The main focus will be on learning how to use hand tools; however, some power tools will be available for those interested in machine techniques.

Participants will leave the class with a fully assembled stool that is ready for final sanding and finishing. All materials and required tools will be provided for the project, but you are welcome to bring your favorite hand tools or a cordless drill if you wish!

This class is recommended for beginning woodworkers. While some prior woodworking experience is suggested, it is not required.
