Simple to Use

Mixing Real Milk Paint® for use is quick and simple — just add water at a 1:1 ratio, shake or stir it well, then wait for the foam to dissipate before painting. Adding our Anti-Foaming Agent to the formula during mixing lets you use our milk paint right away; however, if you’re in a hurry. If you need your color thicker or thinner, experiment a bit with the amount of water to achieve the correct consistency. Our milk paint is water-based, so it cleans up in a snap with just soap and water, and it doesn’t require a primer before application, saving money on materials and speeding up the task at hand.

Easy to Customize

If you need special colors, Real Milk Paint® is simple to mix into custom shades, whether you mix our powdered formulations together or use our base formulation with pigment powders. Our milk paint even layers well over latex paint or other non-absorbent surfaces when mixed with Ultra-Bond Adhesion Promoter, and it also works well for outdoor DIY projects when paired with our Outdoor Additive.

For instance, if you want the shine of wax with the protection of oil, our Wood Wax offers an excellent option for both raw wood and milk-painted surfaces. Want a low luster sheen that doesn’t distract from the unique look of milk paint? Then our Soft Wax, which is available in clear and tinted versions, is a perfect choice. For water-resistant, excellent protection on food-contact surfaces, try our Pure Tung Oil to seal your Real Milk Paint®. 

For an easy-to-wash topcoat over your Real Milk Paint®, try our Finishing Creams. These low-VOC formulations come in dead-flat, low-sheen, and gloss finishes for decorative versatility, protecting the painted surface without changing the color. Our Finishing Glazes, on the other hand, do change the color, lending a hint of depth and warmth to milk-painted surfaces with their espresso, mocha, and mahogany tints. If you want to add special effects to your Real Milk Paint® project during the sealing process, try our Natural Crackle Paint Finish for a trendy distressed look.
