Description
Basswood (Tilia americana) is considered a top choice for wood carvers and sculptors. Although it grows all along the eastern United States, the most highly prized Basswood grows in the upper Midwest region where it's white and creamy texture make it a delight to work with. The Basswood carried at KWS is from this region (Upper Minnesota and Wisconsin).

I've drawn a picture on it, but I haven't started to carve it. carving. to carve it.
It is a set hands holding the rope for a rock climber who is, "On Belay". Note: I'll be 85 in July. The last wood carving I did was in 1980.

Nice basswood
These basswood planks are very nice. They should be a pleasure to carve. The only thing I noticed is the finished thickness is 7/8” not the full 4/4” . I suppose a surfacing allowance is standard.
