Description
Sorby #2 Stebcentre Morse Taper 1-1/4"
Inspired by Norwegian master turner Petter Herud, this 1-1/4" x #2MT Revolving (or Live) Robert Sorby Stebcentre lets woodturners experiment with off-center or eccentric turning. The spring-loaded center point and ring of sharp teeth grip the wood securely. Adjusting the tailstock controls how deeply the teeth grip, while the center point stays stable. This design improves safety for novices by stopping rotation if a tool catches, reducing kickback. In production, the teeth can be loosened to check the workpiece without removal. Workpieces can be changed by loosening the tailstock without stopping the lathe. Drive face size determines the diameter: 1/2", 7/8", and 1-1/4". Made in England.
