The bandsaw is one of the most versatile tools in the wood shop. It can rip, crosscut, resaw, cut curves, bevels, tapers, angles and cut joints like tenons and dovetails.
When tuned properly the bandsaw is an indispensable tool, but it can be frustrating when the saw is out of tune, the blade is dull or the blade is the wrong size for the job. In this class you will learn all the various parts of the saw, and how they work together to maximize performance. Blade tensioning, blade selection, tracking, tires, guide setup and tips for resawing will all be shown and discussed.
Samples of various joints and resawing will be cut during the class, as well as showing some of the most popular jigs for the bandsaw to increase versatility and accuracy.
