Description
The optional skew registration jig locks into the Veritas Mk.II honing guide to set both skew and bevel angles of chisel and plane blades quickly (left- or right-hand).
The jig’s machined aluminum base features laser-etched skew angle markings for clear, accurate settings. Skew graduations range from 10° to 45° in 5° increments, with extra marks at 18°, 22°, and 28° for popular skew plane blades.
The base includes four tracks for bevel angle settings at 20°, 25°, 30°, and 35°. You can create a micro-bevel using the honing guide’s eccentric roller axle mount. The sliding fence with blade stop helps you visually match any existing skew angle, even if it is not standard. This jig is for use with the standard head only. The narrow-blade clamping head’s parallel jaws are not designed for sharpening skews.
