About This Product:

This is the last resin style form you will ever need. It is made from 3/4-inch-thick High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE), a durable plastic. When properly maintained and used with a high-quality releasing agent like Honeywax or Stoner, this form will provide you with many enjoyable and productive hours of pouring in the shop!

The form will be fully assembled and ready to use right out of the box, except for the hold-down bars. Before using the form, apply a coat of mold release to ensure longevity and effectiveness. For subsequent applications of mold release, follow the manufacturer's recommendations for your chosen releasing agent.

The two long sides of the form are securely sealed with RTV silicone gasket maker, along with bolts and threaded inserts. While these sides can be removed if necessary, it is not required for normal operation.

Integrated T-track System:

The form features integrated T-slots on the side walls, making it easy to attach your clamp hardware. With the three included HDPE clamps and the 12 HDPE clamp blocks, you can secure your wood in place before pouring resin. This ensures that the wood does not move or float during the curing process. The HDPE blocks prevent the resin from sticking during overpouring.

Integrated Leveling System:

The leveling system features four integrated leveling feet and two bubble levels. These leveling feet enable you to adjust the level of your form from the top using a standard flat-head screwdriver or the included Ahonui Artisans screwdriver. The bubble levels provide a visual reference to help you ensure that your form is level, regardless of your workspace conditions.

Instructions for Use:

Removing the Blank from the Form:

To use this design, you only need to remove one of the two short sides of the form. If your blank is giving you any trouble, you can remove both short sides.

To remove your blank, start by removing the end cap(s) on the side you chose. This involves unscrewing the three bolts, which are paired with galvanized steel threaded inserts. These inserts ensure the longevity of your form by preventing the holes from wearing out due to repeated use—unlike regular screws.

Next, take a wide chisel or putty knife and position the flat side of the chisel against the HDPE at the point where the blank meets the bottom of the form. Gently tap the chisel with a hammer; this should release the blank from the form, allowing you to pull it out easily. If your thicker blank is still stuck, you can remove the other end cap using the same method for additional support.

Resetting the Form for the Next Pour:

Make sure the end cap(s) you removed have their gaskets fully seated and free of any debris. Reattach the end cap, apply the chosen releasing agent according to the manufacturer's recommendations, and you are ready for another pour. It's that easy!

Disclaimer:

This form is designed to save you the hassle of completely rebuilding, taping, applying release agent, and finding clever ways to clamp your work in place. Its purpose is to make the setup and reset process for your next pour as quick and efficient as possible, maximizing your workflow.

Please note that these forms will produce a blank, not a finished product. They are not intended for creating a final piece that is ready for sale; this is a form kit only, and stock material is not included.

Due to the slick nature of the HDPE material, you may notice minor “scuff” marks on the surface of the form. These marks will transfer to your resin but can be easily planed or sanded away during the final thickness refinement of the blank. Rest assured, these scuffs will not affect your final piece.
