About This Product:

This is the last resin form you'll ever need. It is made from 3/4-inch-thick High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE), a durable plastic that, when properly maintained—such as by using a high-quality releasing agent like Honeywax or Stoner—will provide many enjoyable and productive hours of pouring in your workshop.

The form comes fully assembled out of the box, except for the hold-down bars. Before use, it is essential to apply a coat of mold release to ensure the longevity of your form. Future applications of the mold release should follow the manufacturer's recommendations for your selected releasing agent.

The two long sides of the form are permanently secured and sealed with RTV silicone gasket maker, along with bolts and threaded inserts. While these sides can be removed if necessary, it is not required for normal use.

Integrated T-track System:

The form is designed with integrated T-slots on the side walls for attaching clamp hardware. This feature allows you to use the three included HDPE clamps and the twelve included HDPE clamp blocks to securely hold your wood in place before pouring the resin. This ensures that the wood will not move or float during the curing process. Additionally, since the blocks are made from HDPE, your resin will not stick to them in the event of an over-pour.

Integrated Leveling System:

The leveling system features four integrated leveling feet and two bubble levels. You can easily level your form from the top using a standard flat-head screwdriver or the included Ahonui Artisans screwdriver. The bubble levels provide a visual guide to help you adjust your form to achieve a level position, regardless of your workspace.

Instructions for Use:

Removing the Blank from the Form:

With this design, you only need to remove one of the two short sides of the form. If your blank is difficult to remove, you can remove it from both short sides.

To remove your blank, start by taking off the end cap(s) by unscrewing the three bolts on the side you’ve chosen to open. These bolts are paired with galvanized steel threaded inserts, ensuring long-lasting durability for your form. This design prevents the bolts from damaging the plastic during repeated use, unlike regular screws.

Next, take a wide chisel or putty knife and place the flat side of the chisel against the HDPE at the point where the blank meets the bottom piece of the form. Lightly tap the chisel with a hammer. This should pop the blank loose from the form, allowing you to pull it out easily. If your thicker blank is still giving you trouble, you can remove the other end cap using the same method for added leverage.

Resetting the Form for the Next Pour:

Make sure to take the end cap(s) you removed and verify that the gasket is properly seated and free of any debris. Then, reattach the end cap and apply your chosen releasing agent according to the manufacturer's recommendations. You are now ready for another pour. It’s that simple!

Disclaimer:

This form is designed to save you the trouble of completely rebuilding, taping, spraying, using a releasing agent, and finding creative ways to clamp your work in place. It aims to make setting up and resetting for your next pour as quick and efficient as possible, maximizing workflow. Please note that these forms will produce a blank, not a finished product. They are not intended to create a final piece that is ready for sale; this is a form kit only, and stock is not included.

Due to the smooth nature of the HDPE material, there may be minor manufacturing “scuff” marks on the surface of the form. These marks may transfer to your resin but can be easily planed or sanded away when working the blank down to its final thickness. Rest assured, these scuffs will not affect the quality of your final piece.
